Monkey Shoulder’s new whisky-inspired fragrance is now out in the USA
If you’re a whisky girl, you no doubt love the spell of the liquor. Still, usually when you reek of it, you could lose all your friends, unless your friends are also fellow reekers. It’s not a reputation you would like to cultivate, right? Cue now to the new fragrance from blended malt whisky Monkey Shoulder, which makes you smell like whisky, but in a very good way.
Keep in mind that whisky is made with nice-smelling ingredients: caramel, vanilla, smoked wood, honey… It does have the potential to smell amazing, except when it marks you out as a drinker who spills or has the alcohol coming out of your pores. Monkey Shoulder gets on the good side of the scent with a new whisky-inspired fragrance called Monkey Musk. Like Monkey Shoulder, Monkey Musk exudes notes of vanilla, spiced oak, zesty orange and honey, and is presented in a 3.4 oz bottle that looks like a bottle of the Scotch whisky. Reads a note on the website, “Since 2003, we’ve been shaking up the status quo in the whisky aisle. Now, you’ll find that playful essence captured in a scent that brings forth premium in a whole new way.”
The distillery has signed up actor and comedian Joel McHale (main image) to be the face of Monkey Musk.
In a statement, Malt Master Brian Kinsman revealed that the process of creating whisky is similar in many ways to the crafting of a fragrance.“We both prioritise the quality of elements going into the blend and spend hours perfecting the combination of different notes. It’s a science, and the beautiful blend of Monkey Shoulder deserved to be replicated as a fragrance since it’s made up of tasting notes you’d typically find in leading fragrances.”
Currently, if you’re in the USA, you can buy Monkey Musk off the whisky’s website for about Rs 2,700, and, as a bonus, you will receive a code for a full bottle of Monkey Shoulder to sweeten the deal. That’s an intoxicating deal, we think.
