Soy Como Soy

Nikkei cuisine, a harmonious blend of Japanese and Peruvian culinary traditions, has sparked a global interest among chefs, restaurateurs and diners alike in the past few years. Soy Como Soy brings this harmonious blend of vibrant flavours and traditions to diners’ plates in Pune. Spanish for ‘I am what I am,’ , th restaurant embraces the unapologetic, bold nature of Nikkei cuisine while also paying tribute to soy- the indispensable Asian condiment. The menu, helmed by chefs Rohit Vishnani, Sumair Singh and Richa Choudhary, is an amalgamation of Asian and Peruvian cultural influences. Think dishes like  Tofu Circulo, Nikkei BBQ Style Roast Eggplant, Avocado Miso Tartare with truffle, Vietnamese Summer Rolls and Beet Carpaccio. 

 

Glint By Plunge

You know those pretty cafes from European countries complete with floral arrangements and plants that keep popping up on our explore page? Well, Glint by Plunge is exactly like that! Enter the gorgeous space and you’re greeted with plant-lined walls and bright lights. The greenhouse bar is spread across 4000 sq ft and is divided into indoor and outdoor sections. Highlights on their menu include Activated Charcoal Tacos, Makhni Slider, Chargrilled Butternut Squash and Feta Pizza, and Date and Onion Kulcha among other items. We also highly recommend the Beetroot and Mint Jalebi duo!

 

Kynd Cafe & Bar

Featuring a tree in the middle of the space, mirrored arches with gold accents along the walls, floral arrangements, and a tall giraffe standing proudly in the corner, Kynd is one of the most-Instagrammable cafes in Pune. The menu has been curated by Chef Prakash Joshi, who has previously worked with leading fine-dining restaurants in the country, and works mainly on ingredient-driven dishes. Some of the must-haves include Quinoa Broccoli, Upma, Veg Masala Omelette, French Toast, Blueberry Pancakes, and Spinach Ricotta Ravioli. Don’t forget to leave without trying a slice of their delicious blueberry cheesecake.

 

Hapaa

Located in the quaint neigbourhood of Kalyani Nagar, Hapaa is spread across 3,500 square feet, with indoor and alfresco seating, and is done up in gorgeous pastel hues. Think mint green, tangerine art walls, eye-catching structures, and doppler floorings complete with soft lighting. As for the food, Hapaa offers a

unique menu featuring Pan-Asian fusion cuisine. The contemporary freestyle menu has been designed by Chef Prasad Adhikari, and features dishes like Avocado Edamame Poke, Burmese Khow Suey, Teriyaki Tofu, and Truffle and Edamame Dumplings. They also have some great vegetarian Sushi options to offer.

 

 

Tangasseri

Tangasseri is a Woodfire-based South West Coastal Indian delivery restaurant in Koregaon Park, Pune that focuses on the seasonal usage of very vibrant local, desi, and rural produce. If you’re craving an authentic Goan meal, this fuss-free place should rank high on your list. Some of their bestsellers include Desi Taco Wild Mushroom Ghee Roast, Charred Vegetable Ishtew, and Kimchi Fried Rice, along with innovative dishes like Black Garlic Sourdough Poee Bread, Goan Curry, and Kala Channa Hummus.

 

Laa Unico

If you’re one who prefers food with a little drama, Laa Unico is the place for you. They offer some fabulous authentic Italian, and Mexican food, but it’s their Indian dishes that we highly recommend. The Pav Bhaji Sizzler, and Bhel Puri Version that comes with a molecular representation of puffed rice, spices, chutney, and the Khaman Oxide, an interesting dish of Khaman crumble with chutneys, cooled and sprinkled with a smokey effect cannot be missed.

 

Raasta Pune

The all-new Raasta Pune in the posh neighbourhood of Kalyani Nagar, has been making waves ever since it opened doors earlier this month. The Caribbean-themed lounge, inspired by the rastafari culture opened doors a few days ago. Located on the first floor, the 8500 square feet of space is spread across two floors with an indoor and outdoor section. The boho-themed interiors with a tropical vibe and hints of red, yellow, and green instantly transport you to the Caribbean islands. The menu is comfort food with a mix of Caribbean specialties. Some of our favourites include Jalapeno Cheese Cigars, Veg Jambalaya, and Raw Banana Ribbons. Oh also, do try their Raasta Caribbean Bongtails, which are cocktails served in a bong. We highly recommend the Pink Panther and Caribbean Night!

 

Switch Deli & Kitchen

Not a restaurant, but Switch Deli & Kitchen is gourmet food factory based out of a cloud kitchen in Pune, that offers exceptional dishes for the well-travelled. The menu and concept is the brain child of Ashish Chandani who has been a part of the hospitality space in Pune for over the last two decades. Switch currently has three divisions a kitchen, delicatessen, and a catering service for both office and house parties.  The food ranges from continental food including some grilled favourites, deli sandwiches & risotto, to Italian favourites including pastas and pizzas and Asian specials like vietnamese rolls, sushi and more.
