Brew-tiful Recipes From Chef Ranveer Brar

Celebrated on October 1 each year, International Coffee Day helps us give thanks for a world that knows coffee
 

On International Coffee Day, it's time to celebrate once more the fact that the world has coffee to make things better. Not just a beverage or a morning ritual, coffee brings people together. It can be a conversation starter, a culture builder, a stress-buster, a way to connect; sometimes, it can even mend relationships. 

When the pandemic broke out last year and lockdown trends were taking over the internet, Dalgona Coffee became the trendsetter on the world wide web; in India, coffee lovers across the country came together to enjoy this new style of coffee even amid a global crisis. The strong, unmistakable aroma of coffee unites coffee enthusiasts  across the globe on October 1 every year as we celebrate International Coffee Day. 

In these distinctive recipes from celebrity chef Ranveer Brar for a Strawberry Flavoured Tiramisu and an Iced Mocha, we bring together two great ingredients – coffee and chocolate. These quick and easy coffee-infused chocolate recipes are the perfect way to celebrate International Coffee Day at home.

 

Iced Mocha

Ingredients

¼ cup warm water
¼ cup fat-free half and half
2 tbsp cocoa powder
1 tbsp powdered instant coffee
3 tbsp sugar substitute
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1 cup ice

Method

1. Place the water, half and half, cocoa powder, instant coffee, sugar substitute and vanilla in a blender, cover and blend on low speed.
2. Add the ice. Cover and blend on high speed until smooth. 
3. Serve immediately over ice. 

Strawberry Flavoured Tiramisu

Ingredients

100 g ready chocolate cake

Coffee syrup

3 tbsp ready custard

75 g cream cheese

3 tbsp strawberry flavoured syrup

100 g whipped cream

2 cocoa powder

Strawberries

 

Method

1. Place a layer of ready chocolate cake in a shot glass and soak it with the coffee syrup.
2. In another bowl, beat together the custard, cream cheese, and strawberry flavoured syrup. Fold in the whipped cream. Spoon the mixture into a piping bag
3. Pipe the mixture  over the coffee syrup-soaked cake in the shot glass. 
4. Sprinkle cocoa powder over, add sliced strawberries and serve chilled.
